Instructions: As a part of the New Employee Orientation process, all new employees are expected to review certain Campus, MnSCU and State of Minnesota policies, procedures, and mandatory on-line training. The policies/procedures/ videos are organized on our Web site in numerical order below. To open them, simply click on the link, and it will take you to the Web Site where the document is located or to a PDF format document. You may wish to print the information for your future reference. The documents in the PDF file format are viewable with Adobe Acrobat Reader. To download Adobe free software, follow this link: Download Acrobat Reader.
Mandatory On-line Training: Self-Service ELM:
To register for training:
- Log in to the State of Minnesota Self Service site using your eight digit Employee ID Number and password.
- Choose the State of MN Self Service link.
- Choose the Enterprise Learning Mgmt (ELM) link, and then the Enterprise Learning Mgmt (ELM) folder (or choose the Instructions folder for directions on using ELM).
- Choose the Find Learning option under Quick Links and then search under title: “NHED”
- Choose the “Register” button to enroll in the training program.
To access the training:
- Return to “Learning Home”
- Choose “My Learning” under Quick Links.
- Click on the NHED New Hire training link to launch each course.

As a new employee, you will also:
- Complete Onboarding, generate a Tech ID, Star ID
- Once interfaced into the State of MN payroll, a MN Employee ID number will be emailed to you
